It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

That it took until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to possess a record if not provided the chance.

In the end, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a chance to create her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

Whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it was a frustrating experience because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from that point the batsman was underway.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself that way, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was removed her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at a significant event.

So great is her will, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have delayed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as leader.

Triumph in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
